I am so happy to let you guys know that I am a Brand Ambassador for Walmart Family Mobile. As I have been educated more and more about Walmart Family Mobile, I ask myself.. WHY DIDN'T I HEAR ABOUT THIS SOONER? I could have saved so much money in some stressful times! 2014 was a crazy year. We built a new house, put in our front yard, Rob switched jobs, Krew was born and I had a 3 month (unpaid) maternity leave. The year was filled with so many happy and exciting changes, but a lot of changes that made me have to switch up our budget for 2015. Spending $230 a month for a cell phone just wasn't in the budget nor is it realistic. I have everything I need with my ZTE ZMAX and the Walmart Family Mobile plan plus I am saving SO MUCH MONEY! The Walmart Family Mobile service is $29.88/month (for the first line) Unlimited Talk, Text & Data service plan which includes up to 1G of 4G LTE data, and I bought my ZTE ZMAX for only $179.00 (was $199.88). If you would have asked me if we were taking our traditional summer vacation a few months ago, I would have told you there is no way! However, as for a couple weeks ago we were able to figure out and save for a fun little Summer vacation. So today I want to share with you some ways that I save, and how I went about planning our summer vacation to Southern California.
P.S. I looked up packing lists and they were ridiculous!! Some of the things on the lists were just a little overboard. I will do my own packing list and share it with all of you!
FIRST:
Pick a location and a time. When I think of a vacation, I think of a beach or a lake. Somewhere warm! Plus I know we wanted to take Krew to the beach. We decided to go to Southern California. We will be staying in San Clemente and visiting Laguna Beach, and Newport Beach. We decided to go the end of July because I have one day off anyway for the holiday (July 24th) and it worked out best with our work. We will only be missing 3 days of work and we will be gone almost a week! It worked out perfect.
SECOND:
Flying or driving? Since we live 12 hours away from California this was the hardest debate. Since we are going to have an almost 10 month old when we go flying would obviously be ideal. However, by the time we figured out flights, luggage, rental cars, renting a car seat, hauling a stroller, etc. it is like $500 cheaper to just drive. So we decided to drive. We will drive half way to Vegas and stay the night then head the rest of the way to California. I was able to look up some different hotel deal sites on my ZTE ZMAX phone and found a hotel in Vegas for $25 A NIGHT, and no it isn't a dump!
THIRD:
Plan my outfits. This can be quite the task because I tend to over pack, and when I am traveling with 2 other people I need to not over pack.

Plan activities. I like to look up some beach spots, yummy restaurants, and boutiques. It is nice to have some things planned, but also to know the area you will be in so you aren't way lost. Lucky for us my husband served a 2 year mission in Southern California so he knows a quite a bit of the top places to visit.
FIFTH:
Save, save, save. Find extra ways here an there to reward your self with a vacation. Even if it is just a small one!
It literally took me 10 minutes to pick the phone I wanted and to get it activated! I got it in the electronics section next to all phones.
